Elkins-Dickerson
Amy Michelle Elkins and John Bruce Dickerson met in the spring of 2005 and shared their first date
at Guastavino’s on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Two years later, while vacationing on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, they were awestruck when a full rainbow appeared while they were swimming. Amy was further surprised when John, who had been waiting for just the right moment, took the rainbow as a sign that it was time to pop the question.

The couple celebrated their marriage at sunset on a patio overlooking the Hudson River at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown, New York. The Reverend Kevin D. Bean, Episcopal vicar at St. Bart’s Church in New York City, officiated.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and dance therapy from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. She is a May 2010 candidate for a master’s degree in psychological counseling
at Teachers College at Columbia University. She is the executive assistant to the CEO and CIO at ING Clarion Capital in New York City. Her parents are John and Vicki Elkins of Hamilton Square, New Jersey.

The groom is a graduate of Stamford’s King & Low-Heywood Thomas School and received a bachelor’s degree in government from Skidmore College. He went on to earn masters degrees in both business administration and in communications from Syracuse University. He manages accounts at the NPD Group in New York City. His parents are Mimi Dickerson of New Canaan and the late Dr. O. Bruce Dickerson.

After a ten-day trip touring Italy, the couple returned to New York City, where they reside.
