Waters-MacAllister
Jennifer Mary Waters met Ian Barr MacAllister in May 2005 at a restaurant in Stamford. She was having a drink with a friend and he was having dinner after a hectic day at work. They shared an instant chemistry. “Once we started dating,” recalls the bride, “we were never apart.” A year later,
Ian proposed over a candlelight dinner at home, complete with romantic music, roses and chocolates.

The couple was married by James Pringle, a justice of the peace, in a ceremony on the lawn of the Great Gatsby Estate in Chilmark, Martha’s Vineyard, where the bride spent childhood summers. A black-tie reception followed on top of the bluff overlooking Stonewall Beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

As the 130 guests arrived at the estate, they were greeted with Champagne. During the ceremony, the bride’s brother-in-law read a poem, and her ten-year-old niece, Jessica Campbell of Darien, read from the Velveteen Rabbit. Nicholas Cotellessa, a Darien High School graduate, professional tenor and family friend, sang “Ave Maria” and “For You,” which was recorded by John Denver.

A 1993 graduate of Darien High School, the bride received a bachelor’s degree in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University. She is a vice president with CRT Capital Group, a boutique investment bank in Stamford. Her parents are Edward J. Waters of Darien and Patricia A. Waters of Westport.

The groom received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Yale. He is an analyst at Ehrenkranz & Ehrenkranz, a wealth management company in New York City. His parents are Sharon and Robert MacAllister of Duxbury, Massachusetts.

After a two-week honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple returned home to Stamford.
