Katherine Graham Watts met Kevin James Gregory in a class on new American fiction during their freshman year at college in Pennsylvania — she was at Bryn Mawr, he was at Haverford College. Nine years later, while celebrating the Fourth of July on Fire Island, Kevin surprised Kate with a sunset proposal.
Pastor Constance Jordan-Haas married the couple at Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien. After the ceremony family and friends celebrated at Wee Burn Beach Club in Rowayton then went to a post-reception party at the home of the bride’s parents in Darien.
A 1997 graduate of Darien High School, the bride received a bachelor’s degree in English from Bryn Mawr. She is associate director of development at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Her parents are Holly and Michael Watts.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of Fordham Preparatory High School in the Bronx. He received a bachelor’s degree cum laude in political science from Haverford College. He was recently accepted at Columbia University and expects to complete his master’s degree in business administration in 2010. He is an associate at Citigroup Private Equity in New York City, where the couple resides. His parents are Susan and Christopher Gregory of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
