Back to Main Menu Emily Margot Roth and John Patrick Hanna became engaged at the exact table in the garden room of Raoul’s French bistro in New York City where they shared their first date. They celebrated with a two-week trip to Argentina. The couple was married by Father Philip Judge, S.J., at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in New York City. They arrived at the reception aboard a gondola, and were greeted by guests enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the terrace of the Central Park Boathouse, overlooking the lake. The bride, a graduate of Darien High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior and management from Brown University, and a master’s degree in education from Fordham. She is a senior strategist in marketing and development for EcoTech International, a new business venture established by Robert Watson, the founder and chairman of LEED Building Rating System, to bring comprehensive, integrated, green building design and “clean-tech” technology solutions to China, India and the United States. She is also an enrichment tutor, specializing in gifted and special needs children, and school applications. Her parents are Dr. Norman and Peggy Roth of Darien. The groom is a Loyola Academy graduate and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College. He is associate director of mergers and acquisitions for UBS Investment Bank in New York City and Chicago. His parents are John and MaryAnn Hanna of Glenview, Illinois. After an adventurous two-week honeymoon feeding blacktip reef sharks and rays, scuba diving and snorkeling off the islands of French Polynesia, the couple returned home to New York City. Erin Patricia Sullivan and Brandon Peter Byington met at Brien McMahon High School. “We had mutual friends, always made each other laugh, and were a very young couple for just over a year,” recalls Erin. They went their separate ways to attend college but kept in touch through family and friends. Six years after they parted ways the two reunited. It wasn’t long before Brandon surprised Erin with a proposal at the park where they shared their first kiss as teenagers. The couple was married by family friend Pastor John Livingston at the United Church of Rowayton. A reception followed at the Roton Point Club, where, over the years, the couple had enjoyed the beach, picnics and sunset dinners. The bride graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She is an account executive at Colangelo Synergy Marketing in Darien. Her parents are Debra and Frank Sullivan of Norwalk. The groom is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut University, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He is an investment counselor for David Lerner Associates in Darien. His parents are Denise and Gary Byington of Norwalk. After an eight-day honeymoon on the island of Aruba, the couple returned home to Norwalk.  Kimberly Ann Krippene and Darren Clark Kurre met at a Jimmy Buffett concert on September 8, 2001. Four years later, while on a camping trip at his family’s twenty-acre property on the Potomac River in Levels, West Virginia, Darren and Kimberly rose early to go fishing. They made their way upriver to a beautiful spot — also the location of their first official date — where he proposed. Eighteen months later, friends and family gathered in New Canaan to witness the couple exchange marriage vows in a ceremony officiated by Dr. Gary Wilburn at First Presbyterian Church. The bride is the third generation in her family to be married there. A reception followed at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. The couple later left for a ten-day honeymoon in Bora Bora, French Polynesia. The bride is a graduate of New Canaan High School and the University of Connecticut, with a bachelor’s degree in international communications and Spanish. She is project manager at EMC Corporation in McLean, Virginia. Her parents are David and Lois Krippene of New Canaan. The groom is a graduate of Radford University in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in visual arts with a concentration in graphic design. He is creative director for Imageworks Studio in Chantilly, Virginia. His parents are Dennis and Connie Kurre of Springfield, Virginia. Linzy Jean Howe and Christopher David Nathlich met in the summer of 2003 at the Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, Vermont, where Linzy was working as codirector of children’s programs and Chris was the assistant golf pro. When summer ended, Linzy returned home to northern Virginia and Chris went back to West Palm Beach. But after a winter of long separation, Chris relocated to Chevy Chase, Maryland, and a position as an assistant golf pro at the Columbia Country Club. Two years later, Chris took Linzy on a cruise along the Potomac River, followed by dinner in Georgetown. When dessert arrived, accompanying her chocolate cake surrounded by blueberries and strawberries, Linzy found an engagement ring. The couple was married at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia, by the Reverend Mark Orr, the bride’s former youth pastor at Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien. A reception at the gardens followed. The bride is a graduate of Darien High School, James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and George Mason University, where she earned a master’s degree in teaching. She teaches first grade at Wolftrap Elementary School in Vienna, Virginia. Her parents are Craig and Cynthia Howe of Darien. The groom is a graduate of Burlington, Vermont’s Rice Memorial High School and Champlain College, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is an account executive with CapitalSource Finance in Chevy Chase. His parents are Jean Nathlich of Columbus, Ohio, and Donald Nathlich of San Ramon, California. |
