Mary Elizabeth Miller and Carl Scholtz met when they were classmates at New Canaan Country School. They became good friends and later dated throughout college.

The bride is the daughter of Mary and Walter Miller, thirty-seven-year residents of Darien. She attended the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut, and graduated from Georgetown University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and economics. She went on to receive a master’s degree in developmental psychology from Teacher’s College at Columbia University in New York City. A behavior therapist for Connecticut public schools, Elizabeth treats children with autism, mental retardation, behavioral problems and other special needs.

The groom is the son of Peter and Christine Scholtz of Darien. He attended the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, and graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is currently attending the Yale School of Management and expects to receive his master’s degree in business administration in May 2008.

The couple was married by Pastor Gregory Doll at Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien. A reception followed at Woodway Country Club. After a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, they returned home to New Haven.




Jennifer Claire Robinson and Richard Peter Montesano met on a blind date set up by mutual friends. “The first date was short, and neither one of us was certain we would see each other again,” recalls the bride.

On the second date, however, “the stars were aligned and we couldn’t get enough of one another,” she adds. “From that day forward we were inseparable.” The couple was married by the Reverend John J. Whalen at St. Paul’s Church in Manchester, Vermont. A reception followed at the Hildene Estate, originally owned by Robert Todd Lincoln. 

The bride is a graduate of Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and psychology. She is vice president, global corporate investment banking, corporate events department, at Bank of America. Her parents are Lawrence and Kathleen Robinson, formerly of New Canaan and Darien and now residing in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

The groom is a graduate of Lafayette College with a bachelor’s degree in economics and business. He is vice president, U.S. program trading, for Banc of America Securities. His parents are Vincent and Eleanore Montesano of Mamaroneck, New York.
 
After a honeymoon trip to Lanai and the big island of Hawaii, the newlyweds returned home to New York City.
